Our Vision

Harwood Methodist Church is following a Vision to be an outward facing church, serving the community, working in partnership with a number of agencies, and seeking to be a focal point of the community, with Christ at our centre, which aims to support the work that we see God already doing in the community round about us. Harwood Methodist Church

Bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Harwood

Harwood Methodist Church was formed by the merger of two successful, respected and well established Methodist churches; each with their own gifts, graces and history. Since September of 2009 we have spent a great deal of time praying, reflecting and listening to God about what it is that he is calling us to be as the church in this place.

Part of the response to that call is a significant redevelopment and reshaping of our physical buildings in Harwood.

Phase 2 of our redevelopment started in January. You can follow progress here or by clicking on the picture below (where there are more aerial photographs)

You can donate online to our redevelopment project through our justgiving page

Following Methodist Church guidance, we are not gathering in buildings and our normal worship services are suspended for the time being due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There are, however a number of ways in which you can join in worship.

At 11am each Sunday “Prayers for Bolton” are broadcast on BoltonFM which is available on 96.5 FM, boltonfm.com, and your smart speaker.

At 6pm each Sunday, there is evening worship using zoom videoconferencing. Details are emailed out with the notice sheets.

There is a weekly information sheet emailed out and it is also available via the “Weekly Notices” link at the top of the page. Please note that this online version has personal contact details removed but they are available in the emailed version—see the bottom of the information sheet.

See here for details of the Methodist Church guidance and other ways in which you may still be able to worship.
